I play games with myself to entertain myself all the time. I don’t know how or why I started. It’s just fun.
One of the games I like to play is Stop-Look-Listen. It’s very simple but, when played correctly, will raise the indicator on your happiness meter.
Here’s how it works:
Tell yourself the next thing you see or hear is going to make you very happy. You can play anywhere: while driving, waiting at the airport, as you wake up in the morning, at the doctor’s office or while exercising. Then notice the very next sound or image.

Sometimes what I see or hear is so absurd it makes me laugh out loud. Sometimes the image is a message on a billboard that has much deeper meaning than was originally intended. The cool thing is you will notice future connections to the original happy image or sound which will amplify the happiness level.
Try it for a week. You won’t be disappointed.
