As many of you know, one of my preferred self-healing techniques involves the use of affirmations. Affirmations are a set of statements you use repetitively to help reprogram your subconscious mind to get you where you want to go.
I write alot of mine for myself, but I also have go to people whose affirmations work for me. Here are a few from one of my favs, Doreen Virtue.
This one is great for workaholism:
I invest in myself by taking regular time to let go, play and have fun.
This one helps you trust your own inner knowing which is by far your BEST SOURCE for healing anything in your life:
I listen to, honor, and follow my true feelings, knowing that they are answers to my prayers.
If you are thinking about a move (career or otherwise), try these:
My heart is filled with gratitude and excitement, knowing that wonderful people and situations surround me now.
I now live and work in a safe, comfortable, spacious environment in a wonderful location.
One caveat: I do agree with Author Amy Scher who wrote why positive affirmations don’t work
Make sure you check in with yourself when repeating any affirmations. If you have a negative reaction to any of them, you can:
- reword them in language that has no negative charge for you.
- remove them completely.
- dig deeper to find out why you have the negative reaction and write affirmations around that as well.
The affirmations listed above are from “Healing with the Fairies” oracle cards, Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
I also regularly recommend the affirmations in “Heal your Body” by Louise Hay.
You can always take any affirmation you find and tweak it by inserting words that have more positive, powerful emotional punch for you.
For example, maybe you change this affirmation:
I invest in myself by taking regular time to let go, play and have fun.
to one of these:
I invest in myself by taking regular time to be alone with my thoughts.
… to laugh, love and enjoy life.
…to get out in nature.
I hope you try affirmations for your own self healing. They work!
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
